Alternator Question

Hi! I have a 72 supreme with a 350 and a/c but not many more options other than power brakes. Standard alternator and voltage regulator. In a box, I have a 63 amp HD alternator and the voltage regulator that came from a 71 supreme with a/c, rear window grid defroster and only 35,000 miles. Not installed on my car. I'd like to install these due to the low mileage.
*First off, how do I test this to determine if I need to rebuild or use as is?
*And are there any Issues with using this setup with my supreme?
*How do I test the voltage regulator?
*Would the 63 amp alternator work with my existing voltage regulator?
Thanks!
Chris

You can either take them both to an auto parts store for testing or simply install them on your engine and see if it puts out 14.2ish volts when running. Your existing VR will work fine if it worked before.
