1984 Delta 88 Royale Brougham--Do I have to remove the wiper motor asm. to
remove the non-working washer pump unit that is mounted with the motor, or can it be replaced with the motor mounted?

Also on the wiper motor, the three wire connector with what looks to be a resistor in it, along with a connector with a green wire, how does that disconnect? I tried squeezing, then spreading the tab underneath the connector while pulling the connector at the same time, to no avail.
The other two wire connector on the motor pulls right out, no lock holding it in.

It is tight No Mtr does not heed to be removed be carefull lining the new pump up correctly

 

Correction---the vertical connector has three wires, that connector pulls out without any problem. The horizonal connector (with what looks to be a resistor) has two upper wires with a lower green wire. This connector is giving me the removal problem.

 

There aren't any locks on those plugs...maybe some penetrant, there could be some corrosion...use some needle nose pliers to wiggle the metal part of each terminal...then pull on the plug..

 

As noted, the connectors just pull off. The "resistor" is actually a diode. You don't want to damage it. As for actually swapping the pump, you need to be careful of the orientation of the cam when reinstalling the pump on the motor. There is a hole in the housing that you insert a pin through to lock the cam to the housing at the correct orientation for installation. Also, if this is a motor for delay wipers, the delay timing circuit board is part of the pump and there are additional wires under the cover that need to be disconnected. In particular, some motors have the wire to the relay soldered and some have a spade connector.

Being they are diodes, they must be power diodes, what wattage are they?
