Voltage Regulator Replacement

Went to Napa to get a new voltage regulator the old one has what looks like a condesor that attaches to a single blade connector. Is it a noise surpressor? What is it? I need to tell Napa what it is so I can get a new one along with a new volt regulator. Thanks for any info. Steve

It's a noise suppressor - just use the old one. A new one might be of inferior quality.

It is for radio noise surpression of the reg's internal points opening and closing.
If the new reg you get is electronic (about as light as a large empty beer can), the condenser will be of no real use anyway. Just keep it for original looks.

Agreed, just use the old one...I don't think those things ever go bad.
