U.S. vs European 1978 Delta 88 tail light wiring

Gents, although I read this site on occasion, I sadly have nothing to add except looking for help.
My 1978 Delta 88 , that the Army hit with a tank hauler in 2019 is finally in the shop.
I could not find a good left side tail light assebly so I bought a pair of European tail light assemblies.

the body man called me and said the wiring is different, not just plug and play; does anyone here know anything about this?

If by "european" you mean that these have amber instead of red turn signal lenses, yes, they are wired differently. Also, the amber turn sockets only use 1156 single filament lamps not 1157 lamps. I'm not aware that this was even an option in 1978. Later years (like the mid-80s cars) have a jumper on the fuse panel to convert from red to amber turn signals. I don't believe the 78s have this option.

Thank you.
The assembly IS for a 1978 Oldsmobile, it is on the car already.
Who would I contact for a wiring diagram or information?
On a long , long, shot, would I have find an Overseas Olds dealer for a harness?

Are you sure it isn't for a later model year? I know the 1980-85 cars could have come either way. The Electrical Section in the Chassis Service Manual talks about the wiring differences. The 1978 Chassis Service Manual only talks about wiring for the red turn signals. If there is a mod for export vehicles, it isn't covered in that manual, unfortunately.

The 1978-1979 are the only years this design was used.
the 1977 is different but 78-79 are pretty much identical for parts.
