temperature gauge
temperature gauge
I have a 70 442 with the rally pac. I would like to set up a temporary gauge to just check what the rally pac is reading. What kind of gauge do you recommend and can I just plug it into the temp sensor on the intake? Can I do this with all three guages also?
If you really want to know what the temp is, you need a mechanical gauge. You would have to take out the sensor there now. I ran my car like that for 1 summer years ago, because I wanted to know how hot it ran. If your factory gauge is working right, it should be between a little under + a little over 1/2 way....unless it's real hot.
For the temp gauge, just get an infrared thermometer! Get readings on the manifold by the temp sender instantly.
They are also great for other home and automotive purposes. They cost as tille as 10 bucks, too. I calibrated my rally pac with an IRT.
Oil pressure you will need to get a mechanical one and plumb in adapter to run both at once. A good plumbing shop will have the fittings.
