Tail light question

Hi All,
I have a broken tail light receptacle on my '70 Cutlass convertible, can these be removed and replaced, or do I have to find a new taillight bucket? Thanks

Are you meaning the light bulb socket? If so, yes, they can be replaced. There's a good thread with pics somewhere around here...

The socket for the tail light is made from brass. What's wrong with it? Is it corroded?

You basically can't remove the socket without damaging it because it's roll pressed into place when it was built. There are also 2 small springs in the bottom of the socket that push up on the contacts for the light bulb. Need more information on what's 'broken'.

I restored the buckets and connectors on my 72, but the sockets weren't in terrible shape. The sockets on a 70 are much easier to work on because of the way the bucket line up vertically.

You can use components like this to replace faulty connectors.
