tachometer size for a '69 Cutlass?

Hey guys, I've got a 1969 Cutlass S with the blank where a clock would go. I'm looking to install an aftermarket tach into the dash there instead. What size (diameter) tachometer should I buy? I hear of the tic toc tac repops but they just aren't in budget right now. I'm eyeballing something in the $30-$50 range made by sunpro or something similar. Would a 3 inch tach be the idea fit for a '69 Cutlass dash pad gauge pod hole? Thanks guys.

I have seen that done on countless cars, dont know what the size is but the common Sunpro or Autometer fit well. Not the big 5 inch monster tachs obviosly.

Since the 3 and 3/8 Sunpro's are only $30 on ebay I'll probably order one of those and see if it fits. If it doesn't fit in the gauge hole I'll just mount it on the dash anyway. I'm just curious what my cruising RPM's are.
