I replaced the dead washer pum on my 1969 delta 88. Now it pumps whenever the wipers are activated. I tried flipping the connector, but that didn't work. I suspect there is a stuck switch or relay someplace.

Any thoughts?

 

When you installed it, you didn't line up the actuator cam of the wiper motor with the level of the washer pump.

Take it apart again and see how it's supposed to align, then assemble it carefully so that the pin slips into the groove.

Thanks. I thought I did that (twice), but wil recheck in the morning. If all else failed, I will have a very clean windshield.
