reproduction taillight housings 71-72

Hi, does anyone re-pop tail light housings? can't seem to find any, not on parts place, fusik, year one etc. OEM's come up on ebay from time to time.

Those light buckets are not reproduced. The only way you'll get them is from the wrecker or someone parting out a 71/72. They do clean up nicely in a sandblaster, but very often the wiring and rubber grommets are the parts that deteriorate the worst. Too bad I didn't see this sooner. There were 2 71 CS's in the boneyard up till last week.

These look to be in good shape.

They do look nice in the pics and it's nice to see they come with rock guards and gaskets. May I suggest if the interest is there on those units also ask for pictures of:
* the electrical connectors and full wiring
* the back side of the buckets.
(Also ask whether there is free movement of the contacts in the socket. The wires can be pushed up through the socket to verify whether the springs are there or corroded)

The price seems to be pretty high for what is being offered though.

i was able to find a fairly decent set of oem replacements from "The Cutlass Guy" in Hamilton Ontario. Cleaned them up and installed them and they're working fine....for now.
