Question about power window interchange-ability

Hi all
I've been told that the power window motors on different years won't interchange. But as I look at a set of 1975 Olds 98 power windows and a set of 1972 Cutlass units the motors appear the same with the exception of the ink number stamped on them. Can anyone tell me if there really is a difference between the motors? Anyone know of a resource that will key out the different ink numbers used on different ones? John

Hello, according to my Mitchell book, all GM window motors from 1965-1975, along w/ a few from '75 & '76 should interchange by side. Hope this helps.
