Problems with some gauge lights after change to Rally pack

Good morning Gentlemen,

the unwise guy in Germany needs one more time your support...

I changed the idiot lights to the aftermarket Rally Pack.
Changed the connector harness as described here, temperature gauge and oil pressure gauge work fine, fuel I donīt know (actual no gas tank in my car, its above full which was the same with the idiot lights so I suppose its okīas I have no ground atm).
The generator light doesnīt work. But it worked with my old idiot light gauge.
The bulb is ok (itīs 161, as delivered from the parts place).
When i check the power on the brown cable I have around 4V with ignition on, around 12.5v with motor working.
Maybe someone can explain me the function of this generator light as I donīt understand how a bulb should light when you have power on both sides and no ground....might get easier for me to search for the cause of this problem.
Parking brake light also doesnīt work, but did also not work with the idiot lights. I guess there should be somewhere a switch ? Could you tell me where I can find it ?

Thanks folks !

Regards,

Marc

The GEN bulb gets +12V on one side whenever the key is in RUN or START. The other side of the bulb is connected to the FIELD terminal of the voltage regulator. The regulator is designed such that if the alternator is not charging, the FIELD terminal is connected to ground. With power on one side of the bulb and ground on the other side, the bulb lights up. When the alternator is charging, the FIELD terminal puts out +12V, so now the GEN bulb has power on both sides. This causes the lamp to go out, as it should if the alternator is charging properly. Note that if alternator voltage is low (say, 6V or so), the bulb will light dimly. With the key off, disconnect the connector to the back of the gauges. The brown wire should be connected to ground. Start the engine and there should be 12V on the brown wire (also with the connector disconnected).

The switch is on top of the parking brake assembly. It is a pin switch that looks like one of the dome light switches in the door jambs. The switch simply grounds the wire to the BRAKE lamp when the e-brake pedal is depressed.
