Power Seat Wiring Diagram?
Power Seat Wiring Diagram?
Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the power seats in a 1966 Olds 98?
Aparently my service manual doesn't have that information in it. Is it because it was an option?

I know the The Fisher Body service manual has all the power seat info in '71?
I think anything Fisher did before sending it on to the assembly plant is covered more in their manual, wiring, interior and exterior trim, glass , power top, wipers and all that.

1966 was the first year for separate Fisher Body manual. Power seat, windows and convertible top wiring are covered in the FB manual 1966-later. Before that the CSM included a Body section which covered body wiring.
In 64-65 Oldsmobile had a separate Body Manual book as part of the service literature, but it was still considered an Oldsmobile manual and not Fisher Body.
Confusing, no?
We're still not as bad off as some 60s Chevy people. If you own a 1964 Chevrolet, you have to get the 1961 CSM and then the 1964 supplement. In some cases you need the 62 and 63 supplements too, to have all the information, plus the 1964 Chevelle or Corvette supplement if you have one of those. Not a problem in a dealer service department which would have had them all, but clumsy for a hobbyist (unless you're a service manual collector like me). 1962 is the only year I know that Oldsmobile did that.

Do you have an LS? As I recall my 1965 98 LS did not come with buckets but with a bench seat.

Let me know and I'll scan the diagram and send you a PDF.

More Corroded Seats!

I can't imagine that your car is four inches LONGER than "Blue Belle!"

PS motors, switches, and transmissions are common to about any Olds or other GM from 1962 on thru the early 80s, as long as it's the same type seat- 2-way, 4-way or 6-way. There may be a slight difference in the plugs, but the motors all work the same. As an example my 69 Toronado has a 6-way seat motor/transmission from a 1980 Ninety Eight. I had to change the motor plug to match the car's body wiring; otherwise it was a simple bolt-in. Or as they like to say now, "plug and play".
bumping this old thread!!! i came across this thread thanks to the mighty google and i need some parts! i already PM'd john but if he doesnt have what i need i may be calling on some of you other "parts collectors" for some help! my poor 67 olds ninety eight bench seat is much more like a rocking chair right now since one of my power seat motors came apart on me.
