Non-Olds: 2001 Pathfinder Blower Stuck ON.

OK for non Olds questions ?

Heat / AC blower doesn't turn off until I turn the car off. is stuck on High. The Off button does turn off the digital readout (temp, flow patterns, etc), but not the fan.

When I turn car back on, blower comes back on High. I will take out the fuse so it doesn't come on at all...but is this something this can be fixed without too much trouble or expense ?

Have you checked for a possible relay that could be stuck closed? There seems to be a relay for everything in new cars...

If you have the auto a/c system the problem is most likely the Fan control Amplifier located behind the glove box.
1. Check for a voltage signal on the Blue/Yellow wire at the fan control amp . If it has a "no" signal, then the fan amplifier would be bad. If it has a continuous "high" signal, then the heater control panel may be at fault. For low to medium speed, it should have about at 2-4 v signal; for high speed, it should be about 9-10v.

Had almost the same problem in a 95 intrepid - seems the plastic sweated behind the switch, causing it to go crazy!!
Was fine after sitting in a heated garage with the windows open!
Maybe hit it with a hair dryer??????????
Cheaper than throwing parts at it!!
