Neat place to install mini rocker switchs

I've been looking to install some painless wiring mini rocker switches and I've come up with a reasonable solution I thought I'd share. Using the ash tray on my 68 cutlass, I made a small switch panel that installs under the ash tray door. The install is completely hidden when desired.
I'm putting an auxilary fan switch, the manual TC lock-up switch for my 2004r, and I'll have two extras.

All you need is an ash tray for raw materials. A few cuts and a couple of tack welds and you're good. Here are some photos:

just in case it is not clear, the angled cut piece from the bottom of the ash tray was used to form the curved panel on top of the tray that holds the switches. The top panel can't be too big, or it won't install and the door will be blocked.
Good luck. I hope it is useful to some of you.

Now that's a good use for an ash tray! Very creative- well done.

Thanks Allen. Got the idea because Painless sells a kit to install the mini switches into the mustang ash tray location.
I just winged it from there but I'm happy with how simple the solution was.

You planning to paint it and make it look pretty? I know it's not necessary.
