I'm in the process of re-wiring my car. I purchased this factory fit harness from American Autowire. Throughout the forum there are questions like "Where does this wire go?" People are VERY helpful, but Sometimes the answer just isn't there. I want a current pic of a harness that's correctly labeled. I want to do this for myself and for those who will definitely inquire in the future. Above you'll see a pic of my harness, please help me in labeling it. I know where most go,esp the ones with the connections, but I have no clue with the others. Like the double white wire in the middle. Which wires are for my Tac? My Tac was rigged up and I think I need different connections on the back to connect to this harness. Please give your input below. I'll take a better pic and put a digital label on each wire, we'll look at it one more time and share with the masses...then I'll put it in my car. Thanks for your help!!!

"Not sure" is the steering column connector. The unlabeled connector with two green wires next to the purple NSS is the backup light switch (which is part of the NSS, thus the wires are the same length).

Awesome! Great job!

I don't understand why the Purple NSS wire is looped. It has no connector. Maybe it's an error???

I'll make this pic a little prettier when I get some time...thanks again!

That's so you can use it on a manual trans car. Keep in mind that Cutlii didn't get a clutch safety switch until the 1969 model year. And it sure looks like there's a connector to me. The loop is on the mating connector.

I see it now...it's like one of those pictures you have to stare at for a sec to understand the full view...thanks Joe!

The Brown wire off the Fuse Block....what does that go to? It's currently not hooked up to anything in my car either.

I just realized I will probably need an extender harness for the NSS connectors b/c I have a console shift. I might just re-use the one that's in there.

Also is there another wire that goes to the Tac or is the 3rd wire to the tac or is it just a ground wire that goes from the gauge to the body?

The NSS is not used for a 68 standard trans. That's the way the harness was supplied from the factory. There's a connector with a loop plugged into it (That's the way the purple wire on my car looked)

Is this on the engine bay side? I don't see it in this pic.

Isn't that black connector that is still labeled "Not Sure" the ignition switch connector?

Correct. The font is so small I didn't even see that one.
