The schematic shows that white with black stripe wire is the grounding side of the courtesy light circuit, the orange wire being the positive side, the white/bl;ack stripe runs back to each door jamb switch and to the map light switch, it may do thst through the connector in the dash harness. I think that harness does the dash flood lighting for the switches, ash tray light, map light, the light for the headlight switch and has the map light mirror feed too IIRC. I'm not real good with electrics but I think the orange wire is always hot and that wht/blk strip wire grounds the circuit through the door jamb switches which turns the courtesy lights on when you open the door, the map light switch grounds that bulb to turn it on when the doors are closed?
Rob will correct me if I'm wrong.

I put them in my Vista Cruiser and the wiring was just a matter of plugging the courtesy light harness into the dash harness connectors?
The CSM has the wiring schematic.

This is from the '71 assembly manual, should be pretty much the same as '72.
