horn problem
horn problem
I have all new parts to fix horn but I have a problem. The spring and pin has a little black keeper that is suppose to hold the spring in place so when the horn is pushed it will make contact. It looks like the turn signal cancel ring has the piece to hold the spring. Mine has no way to hold the spring. The keeper is supposed to push in and turn a 1/4 of a turn to hold. Would the signal cancel ring be wrong signals work fine.
First, is this a sport wheel? If so, the cancel cam looks like this. Note the tube that sticks up with the quarter-turn notch in the end of it. This tube needs to be visible in the hole in the steering wheel hub. If not, the cancel cam is broken and needs to be replaced.

Assuming you do have the tube visible in the hub, you need this contact kit. The spring goes in the tube first, then the eyelet with the large end down, then the black retainer. The pin on the side of the retainer engages that quarter turn slot in the cancel cam tube.

Once you have that in place, the horn button ring goes on with three screws. The little L-shaped tab on the ring presses on the end of the eyelet. Snap the horn button onto the contact ring and you're done.
