High Beam/Low Beam

1955 Holiday 88. Headlight dimmer switch was stuck on high beam. Replaced the dimmer switch. High beams still work. Low beams do not. Cannot get a test light to work in the plug on low beam, but does work on high beam. Any suggestions on where to start looking for the problem?

I don't know anything about your car but just wanted to say that if the switch was stuck on high beams then have you ever seen the low beams work? If not then you will have to work your way from the dimmer switch to the headlights. Verify that you have voltage from the low beam side of the switch and then check it on both sides of each connection and after that out to the headlights.

I have never seen the low beams work. I do have voltage at the headlight connection on high beams, but not on low beams. I did not know where to start. I will start at the new dimmer switch. Thank you.
