Help decoding alternator code

I have a repop Delco alternator from my 71 Cutlass and hoping someone can help decode it:
1102394 37A
8E 4-12VNEG

Any clues where it came from originally?

TIA

C.J.

I found the part number matched to 75-79 Chevys. So am I reading the date code correctly as 4 May 1978?

TIA

My books show this to be multi application part. OLDS Buick Chevy GMC Pont. The Olds showing this unit for the May 1978 date are Omega and Starfire. The same number but different dates are shown for other Makes.

yup, alternators weren't so specific to make/model.
