Heater Problems

Hi

I have a 1970 Toronado, with climate control but air conditioning has been removed, anyways I can't get the heater to work or even the fan to blow. I have checked the fuse and that seems to be ok but thats as much as I know. Where do I start?

thanks

How about checking the heater fan control resistor block, on many cars it is mounted on the air plenum (engine compartment side) and is really just a couple of coiled wires that have different resistance values, they are inside the air plenum to dissapate the heat they generate but control the fan speed. If they are damaged or not connected, no fan.

Start by getting a Chassis Service Manual. Since parts were removed, we have no idea what is still connected or not connected.

We need to know if it is a Comfortron car or a CAC (Custom AC) car. Comfortron has some gizmos that will prevent blower or heater operation under certain conditions.

Look on the control head and tell us if it has pushbuttons and a sliding lever, or a sliding lever only and says "COMFORTRON".

I had a look at the fan and i put power straight to it. It worked so
i guess this means that it hasn't any power going to it whilst indicating its on. If someone has a wiring schematic for this model please post it to my inbox. thanks
