fuse block

any ideas on how to clean up the rust on the terminals in the fuse block without damaging the white letters? i started to soak the block in vinegar but thought about the lettering so i pulled it back out because i didn't want the vinegar to eat away the ink or paint used for the lettering.

Well, the right way would be to get new terminals and install them. Otherwise, lots of hours with a Dremell

Soak it in cleaner and then reapply white paint to the letters with a brush if it wears off.

Assuming you have the harness and fuse box out of the car, soak it in something like Rust911. These aqueous rust removers claim that they won't damage paint or non-metallics.

EVAPO-Rust. Good stuff, an excellent rust remover. Check it out. I have on a number of parts with no destruction beyond what is all ready there. It is also reusable. Follow directions.
