Exchanging red/yellow side markers on a '70 Cutlass Supreme

Strange question, you may ask...

For registration I need to (temporarily ) replace my rear red side markers with orange ones.

Disabling all 4 for registration might be an option, but could end up in "Hey, no bulb in there but red glass is a no-go!". They're just **** with historic registrations, I'm afraid.

So: Are the front and rear glasses interchangable? Looks like I could get a pair of orange and right mount them R/L to L/R?

Pic shamelessly stolen off e*ay:

Stefan,
Yes, you can swap them front to rear with no problems.

Meaning "We tell you what you need to cut, rip out, delete and destroy", not "it's got to be exactly like rolled off the line back in 1970"!

Stefan,
The fronts are harder to find than the rears. My theory is that the fronts are exposed to the emements & they corrode much more than the rears, which are somewhat protected by being in the trunk.
I'll check my stock to see what I have & let you know.

To expand on your theory the left front also gets washed by battery acid and lots of these cars get involved in front end collisions.

Sorry watchers, thanks, Scott!
