Replacing Engine Harness.

Looks like I'll have to remove booster to get to it, but:

Is there any 'trick' to getting the connector out of frame/connection on firewall (without breaking the connection hold pieces)?

It appears to have two plastic 'hook/slip' connectors coming out of firewall (fusebox?), that the harness connector fits over. That won't be a problem.

The problem seems to be how to unhook the existing connector without destroying it.

should be a bolt right in the middle. if you take out the bolt the harness should just pull off the firewall. after it is off the fire wall the two sections should just slide apart. sounds easy but sometime they can be stuck and sometime i have seen undercoat all over it to make it harder.

There may also be sealer sticking the two halves together. Keep working at it and it will come loose.

If it's anything like my 70, just unbolt it from the firewall. Then you can un-clip the two halves.

Also it was tight, but I managed to replace it without removing the booster. I had to be a bit of a contortionist, but I did it.

It may seem the wrong direction but I would take the wheel house out first, especially if you have a southern car!! Pull the wheel, remove wheelhouse and stick your face right in the plug

Thanks for all. I got it off. got it back on, and now have wires to figure out what they were supposed to have been.

the added benefit, is when I pulled the master cylinder to get the booster off, I found it has been leaking, so there are opportunities at every turn....
