electrical manual

i have an electrical manual for an 84 cutlass but i need one for a 1980 pre computer i found out there is suppose to be a fuse on the firewall for the blower fan now i am wondering what else has been jury rigged. i got a new ign switch and a new horn relay now to get a dimmer switch. it all started with a short under the hood and melting wires and vacume lines got the wipers to work and some of the lights but no gauges and the t-top leaked so there is rust in the dash and the circut board is melted in a few places and i haven't been able to find used ones or any g body parts in the wrecking yards around here in spokane. it will take time and money and patients.

There wasn't a separate electrical manual for the 1980 model year. The info is all contained in the Chassis Service Manual. It wasn't until the advent of computers that the electrical info became so voluminous that a separate volume was required.

In the off chance you don't realize it, your 80 Cutlass is an A-Body (not a G-Body).... If you are calling around asking for G-Body parts, especially without specifying the year, you might not get the answer you want to hear... G-Body designation did not start until 1982.....

78 - 80 Buick Regal & Pontiac Grand Prix.... Most mechanical & electrical parts are interchangeable.... Body parts are somewhat limited....

Actually, Cutlass, Regal, Grand Prix, LeMans, Monte Carlo, Malibu, ElCamino.

And just to be completely correct, GM used the A-body designation on the RWD cars through the 1981 model year. The FWD cars that were SUPPOSED to replace them as the A-body platform weren't released until the 1982 model year. When GM made the (wise) decision to keep the RWD cars in production, the RWD platform was redesignated the G-body. The 1978-1988 cars are pretty much all the same; only the name was changed to protect the innocent.

Yeah, I realize there were some detail changes from year-to-year. For example, the front outer wheel bearings used the A2-style bearing for 1978 only and the larger A3 bearing for 1979-1988. Also, items like wheel lugs changed from SAE to metric threads, wiper switch moved from the dash to the stalk on the column, etc, etc.
