Dash Lights

I’m new to this forum, thanks for letting me join! 1969 Cutlass Convertible, having trouble with my dash lights. The lights behind the gas gauge etc on the left do work. The rest of the dash lights along with the blinker indicator lights do not work! Yes the fuse is good and I have replaced the bulbs. Any ideas?

Check the ground. On the 70-72 the gauges are mounted to metal straps attached to the dash. Those brackets are connected to the metal dash housing and provide the ground for the gauges. I’m not sure how the 69 is but I would guess they are very similar.

^^^THIS. The backside of the plastic instrument panel looks like this. Note the metal ground straps.

Here's a pic of the rear of a 68 dash, 69 is similar but no hole for the ignition switch. I circled the area between the fuel gauge pod & speedo, There is a small black jumper wire that goes between the 2, it must be hooked up for things to work properly, it's the only way the speedo hsg gets grounded! Same with the tabs on the steel grounding plates, the gauge mounting screws must go through them.
