Correct speakers for stock radio

My 70 442 dash speaker is not working - would like to replace with something a little better but needs to match up with stock am fm radio. What have you guys used with success? And looks like an ugly job to install?

Year, model? You most likely have a 4X10 dash speaker with 10 ohm impedence. Almost all modern car stereo speakers are 4 ohm and can cause overheating in the factory radio. If you get one of the ready-made 4X10 adaptors with dual 3 1/2 or 4 inch speakers, you can wire them in series and the 8 ohm result will work fine with the factory radio.

The company has recently relauunched their website, but try them for OE style speakers (8ohm).
