Blower fan has power, will not work, 1977 Delta 88
Alright, so I have power at the blower, but the blower will not turn on in any setting, AC, bi-level, max, heat, defrost, vent, high, low, medium, won't turn on at all unless I hook it up to a power source other than the blower motor. Friend said it might be a fusible link, but I have no clue where it is on this wiring harness.
So, as I said, with a light tester, I confirmed I have good power and ground at the motor, but it will not spin without external power. So, yeah... Help!
It's friggin' cold and I have to work Monday, so I'd like to figure out what's going on quickly, thanks for any help you can give.

Look on the top of your ac box and check the blower motor resistor.
That is what slows the fan down to different speeds. If you run 12 volts to the blower motor thus bypassing the resistor, the fan should spin on the HI setting.
First determine if 12volts will spin the fan by bypassing the resistor.

Don't figure they'll be too expensive, I'll get one tomorrow and see if it starts working.

No and No.
His resistor is not the issue: His fan doesn't work on High either.
His ground is fine: The motor runs when he puts power to the blower directly.
Check the fuse block. There should be a fuse that is labeled something like "HEAT."
See if it's blown, or if the contacts are corroded, and check voltage and continuity there.

Check the fuses first as mentioned. Agreed that the problem is not the resistor.
If the fuses are good look for a black plastic connector approximately 1 1/2" X 1" near the right valve cover with either 3 or 4 wires, one of the wires is red and heavy gauge a 10 or 12 IIRC. Open the connector and look for bad connections inside, these would burn inside often and fail.

No, it's a combination of bad wiring and a bad relay. Sorry I forgot to post, the past few months have been quite chaotic. Quit one job, got another, work dried up, just landed another driving a van for PGW, pittsburg glass works, formerly PPG auto glass, will be a night shift driving stock to a few nearby cities.
Anyway, there is a wire that was a bit melted, ground I think, don't really remember, it's taped now, I'll do a proper repair later on, but for now I'm leaving it be.
