Battery tray location 72 Cutlass S/Supreme

I am looking through ASM, CSM, and body manuals, and figured I'd ask if anyone knows offhand.

The battery sits with terminals facing the radiator on the driver's side. The tray holds it close to the radiator, so there is very little room to connect the terminals in place. However, there's six inches of room behind it. I am trying to decipher the different battery locations; is it possible to relocate the tray further outboard to different holes so I have more terminal clearance, or is it the way it is for a straight shot down to the hold down and not occlude it by putting it under the fender?

The 1972 PIM shows the tray installed with the terminals facing the engine, not the core support.

Here are a couple of pictures of the Battery location on my 72 (350)
Plenty of room to get at side post connections

Ok, I need to work on that, because neither yours nor the ASM matches mine.

My 72 Supreme is the same as the ASM and pictures above. As mentioned, plenty of room to get to the side terminals.

Ok, I think my tray is 180 off and angled.
