AC Fan switch

AC Fan switch
Hello experts,
1970 Cutlass S
Coming home from a show last night I turned on my fan switch and it was smooth. Meaning I did not have the three clicks for the different fan speeds and hence it did not come on.
Does this sound like the switch broke and the only way to repair it is to take the whole AC Control Assembly? it is the original 51 year old unit.
And if I am F$@%, and recommendations for the best place to buy a new one?
Cheers,
Bill

The blower switch is serviced separately. You may have to remove the control head to get at the switch mounting screws but that's not a heinous job on a 70.
Original part # from Nov 73 Olds parts book:
Grp 9.275, p/n 395168, SWITCH, fan speed (5 terminals), 70-72 F85. You will have to reuse the ****, and the **** has to come off to remove the switch from the control head.
If you can't find NOS or a good used original, you may be able to use that number to cross-reference an aftermarket supplier like Standard Motor Parts or NAPA Echlin.
Keep in mind that Olds refers to ALL 61-72 A-bodies as F85 in the parts books.
