My driver side window is not working anymore and I don't know what happened. I had a loose wire for a while so every time i wanted to roll a window down i had to connect the wire on the back of the window switch and then roll it up or down.
the other day i went to roll it up and when I connected the wire to the back of the window switch it sparked and the driver side window stopped working.
I can still roll down the passenger window with that switch but not the drivers side.
where do I start I dont want to replace parts that dont need to be replaced any advice?

 

I have the same problem with the driver's power window on my 1985 442. The switch works for the passenger window, but not the driver's. I removed the switch, cleaned the contacts, and even replaced the switch with another one used from a boneyard. Is there a fuse I can check under the dash? If so, which one covers the electric windows?
