72 Vert Glove Box Light Switch

A question about removing the glove box light switch (plunger switch). I was able to unscrew it from the sheet metal of the IP. However, there does not appear to be a way to remove it. The white wire from the switch runs to an electrical terminal (looks sort of like a 90 degree spade type brass terminal) crimped onto the wire and the terminal is too large to pull through the hole in the IP sheet metal. And the back of the switch doesn't look like it has an unpluggable connector.

Any ideas how to remove it without cutting the white wire?

Thanks.

I had a some similar question. The light is not working,I changed the bulb, but I then discovered the orange wire is not connected anywhere and I cannot find the other end of the connection. Can anybody help?

It should look like this.

If so, the white wire will pull off the plunger with some effort. It is a bullet type connector & can be stubborn.

Can you tell me where the connector for that orange wire goes? I felt up underneath the dashboard and behind the glove box I could not find the other end of that wire is it a loose connection or would it be somewhere particular that I need to look?

It goes to a lead from the dash wiring harness. Look just above the radio for the connector.
