'67 Cutlass front parking lights

I mentioned this in antoher thread but that thread is concerning engine work.

Does anybody know if there are any physical or legal issues with connecting my front parking lights so they stay on with the headlights? Modern vehicles have their parking lights hooked up that way so I don't know of any reason it cannot or should not be done. The wiring is simple, would it put too much strain on the light switch circuit? I wouldn't think so, just wanting input.

Thanks for any comments.

No issues of any kind. In fact, this is EXACTLY what GM did for the 1968-up model years, since the feds required it. Simply connect the front park light feed wire at the headlight switch to the same wire that feeds the taillights.

I can't think of any real reason other than it's not technically correct (nitpicky), will burn out bulbs faster (miserly) or might cause the plastic lens to darken or craze a bit faster (paranoid.)

So, no real reasons, just a bunch of minor, minor, minor concerns.

You may suffer Points Off at the concours show.
If you can get over that horrible problem, have at it.
