66 Delta 88

Been making a custom dash in my delta 88 after my local trade school destroyed mine......long story short, the battery was dead the other day, replaced it as it was a cheap battery that was 5 years old. Went to start the car, no crank no click, nothin.... has power and battery is fully charged.

Mechanical skills are limited. I'm more of a body and paint guy .

Headlights, horn etc. work? Try starting with foot on brake, crank while moving gear selector. Keep your foot on the brake it may start, if yes problem with neutral safety switch.
Good luck!!!

When doing the dash, did you get the ignition switch in and connected? When you say it has power, does that mean that the interior lights come on when you open the door? Do you get dash lights when you turn the key to RUN? If those are ok, it could still be a bad battery connection where the cables go to the battery. I've had similar issues with bad battery connectors, which can easily be replaced, and also a bad ignition switch.

I'm not getting power between the electronic ignition and the ignition coil. Guessing my electronic ignition has bitten the dust.

Your not getting power at the coil+ or the coil- terminal? The electronic ignition provides a ground to the coil.

There is a neutral safety switch that is in line with the start position of the ignition switch, see if you have power there. This will cause the no cranking issue. Which electronic ignition are you running? Most people will run a power wire from the ign terminal at the fuse box to the red wire for a pertronix. Then depending on the coil, if stock then the resistance wire needs to be used, if a flamethrower then its connected with the red wire and the wire from the ign terminal.

Are the headlights working?

You should read battery voltage at one of the purple wires with the key in the start position on the neutral safety switch. Once you get the engine to crank, run a temporary jumper from the battery positive cable to the coil+ terminal and see if it starts. If it does start, in order to turn it off the jumper needs to be removed. That will tell you which direction to go.

The whole column? Check the nuts that hold it to the underside of the dash.
