Pretty sure the temp sender is the same basic thing in all the cutlass lines 68-70's. To the best of my knowlege the ones with idiot lights came with one wire from the factory. The information is on page 12-76 of the 72 Chassis Service manual. It clearly shows a single spade contact on the top of the senders. Hope this helps.

Anyone with a 69 manual might be able to confirm this.

Should be one wire, the extra wire might be for the oil sender. Is yours plugged in?

.Thanks for info so far,
the oil sender is hooked up and has the original rubber boot and metal wire tag and the wire goes up to firewall,on the temp sender it has the light green wire on the sender, the extra wire in the same bundle with alt wires is blue ,the same length as green and shows with my meter as going to ground.

temp sender

On my 69 cutlass the temp wire is green and the oil pressure is blue. Just did a complete rewire of the car. Tried to start it and it didn't catch on fire.
