Can anyone tell me were the brown wire goes for the power antenna for a 1969 Oldsmobile 442. I have the new black and white harness that goes to the antenna. As shown in the photo the brown from the center post extends 4 feet and plugs into a male connector and another brown wire is also connected into the male connector but has been cut off.....imagine that! I suspect the brown plugs into the radio harness? Also was hoping someone has the two brackets laying in their extra parts box, I know I could make them but would prefer factory.Thanks.
The brown wire is the power feed and plugs into the ACC terminal on the fuse box. The cut off wire is supposed to have a connector to let you daisy-chain another accessory if necessary.
That makes sense but how do you know that? I have an assembly manual, body manual, service manual, chassis wiring diagram.....and still I don't see any reference. What am I missing?
Nevertheless what type of connector do you think was on the cutoff section, male or female?
No cut off section. I'm guessing power is supplied to the turn signal switch then when you select left or right turn power is directed to that wire. I first want to check at the supply harness which is the female connectors to insure I have power to the switch. Which I must because the left signals work. So since I've checked all the lights and they are good why isn't the right signal working. The right rear aluminates but does flash. When I push in the hazards all lights flash so to me the flasher is working. Im thinking the turn signal switch isn't working properly?
