1969 442 AC Delete Wiring

Hi,
Trying to determine how to wire the blower motor so it still works with the heater now that I’ve removed the AC box from under the hood.

the block-off plate is ready to be installed.

I see instructions on making sure the relay is installed so the blower motor will function.

Which relay?

Do you use the relay that is on the passenger firewall or the relay that is installed into the AC box?
if the one on the AC box, how do you attach it to a new location- just drill holes in the block off plate?

I have already gotten rid of my AC box so I’ll need to buy that relay if that’s the one I need.

Despite the fact that you are removing the A/C evaporator, you still need to retain all the A/C wiring and vacuum lines for the blower motor, heat, and defrost to work. That means that you need the high speed blower relay, the A/C blower motor resistor, the vacuum ball and hoses, and the A/C control head. You cannot simply swap to the cable-operated heater-only configuration unless you also weld up the A/C holes in the firewall and use the heater-only HVAC boxes.

Thanks Joe!

If I don't care to have the variable speed blower, is there a way to wire this so the blower fan will turn on just one speed and I can clean up the wiring loom a little?

I guess the alternative is buying the relays and installing them into the blockoff plate somehow.

I will keep the vacuum lines intact.
