1967 442 wiring
does any one know what this white wire coming from headlight switch is for? mine has been cut and just hanging down from the switch! Also I have a loose pink wire behind fuse box that is spliced with a red wire that has power only with ignition switch on, what is it for? I believe that pink wire was the wire that goes to coil but not sure yet and if it is they pulled it from firewall and if it is do they sell the pin that
I will need to replace?

The white wire is usually the ground side of the courtesy light circuit when you turn the switch **** all the way CCW. You're going to have to chase the pink wire to figure out where it goes. It could be the coil, aftermarket radio, or something else.

I do not have courtesy lights, but you would think I would! My dash lights work along with my sail panel dome lights. but my lights do not come on when I open doors, only with the light switch!

Do you have the CSM for your year 1967 vehicle? It has a full color diagram of the wiring in the electrical section, page 12-2. The white wire provides a ground path through the headlight switch as "oldcutlass" mentioned above for the courtesy and dome lamps. I could scan the wiring diagram out of my CSM but I don't think the colors would hold up well enough. Recommend you get an original copy of the CSM ( chassis service manual ). They routinely show up on E-bay. I paid $5.00 for mine in 1968.
