The amp rating would depend on power options such as AC, power seats, windows etc.

I met a fellow yesterday with a 67 442 and his alternator was 1100628 37Amp

That number didn't seem right to me. I was just curious so I could steer him in the right direction with his restoration.

An ebay search of that number netted me 4 or 5 auctions for a 1963 Chebby Corvette application.

For a non ac, power nothing car that would be correct. My 67 442 has a 37 amp alternator. It is only needed to work running lights and to charge the battery... for the most part.

No need to guess, the AMA Specs confirm that the 37 amp alternator was the base alternator across the board on the F85 line.

The AMA Specs are on Wild About Cars.

1100628 is a 1963 or 1964 chevy or corvette alt. Worth keeping or selling. Not sure what # he should have.

J, my 1967 4 door w/330 has an 1100767 stamp, 37 amp. There's the date code also, although I'm not sure how to read it without someone reminding me. As Kurt mentioned you could look at wildaboutcars for references. There's also the Oldsmobility site that focuses on 1967's.

If it turns out to be the wrong one and you find the correct number let me know. One of those projects I've not got around to is keying out old alternators, starters and water pumps. I've got several dozen of each and once I find the correct codes for my project cars I need to offer the rest up to others as cores. John
