Is this factory or aftermarket?

DSC08532.jpg

As far as I can tell it is a map light. It turns on from the little black button. I like it, but it looks a little out of place?

Another question. When I try to lock the drivers side door by pushing down the lock and then shutting the door the lock pops back up.
But when I lock the door with the key (when it's shut) it stays locked. Is this a feature (can't lock keys inside the car) or is something broken?

The car is a 1967 Delta 88 Custom

Thanks for the helpful tips. I suspected it to be aftermarket, it is just so out of place
I figured the door lock might be like that. Just couldn't figure it out.

The light is operated from one of the black buttons. The other is for the rear defogger, is that we're the button for the rear defogger is supposed to be?

Here's some more pics:

Great looking car!
These cars need more love...
The full size Impalas get all the attention.

Sigh... I had to pass on a 67 like that for 300 bucks about 9 years ago, because I already had 3 deltas in the driveway at the time.

OK Ok, I know this is a 5 mo. old thread, but I'm just going through the archives. As far as the original question, you have to hold the thumb button in when closing the door. Guess it is kind of a failsafe to keep you from locking the keys inside accidentally.

Since the post that originally was between #s1 and 2 was deleted, the answer to the lock question still had not been answered when I made that post.
