What frames fit a 1968 Delmont convertible

I am likely going to need a frame for a 1968 Delmont convertible I plan to restore before I die. A lot of heavy rust in the box frame. Not sure I trust it. I know a regular frame from a 1968 88 isn’t heavy enough, which is too bad cause I have a really good one from a parts car I have. So, I know it has to be a convertible Oldsmobile frame, but not sure what years would work. Are the 1967-1970 frames the same? Is the 1968 frame unique? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know the answer to your question; but, if the frame you have is really nice it may be worth having it boxed in like a convertible/heavy duty frame. The existing bad frame could be used as an example to copy.

1967-68 should interchange. Olds B-body is the only option. Other GM divisions used unique frames with different suspension and brakes.

Note that the convertible frame is a hardtop frame with additional sections welded to it. If you can salvage the convertible-unique reinforcements from the rusty frame, these can be welded to a hardtop frame to turn it into a convertible frame. This photo is an A-body frame, but the concept is the same for the B-body.

Thank you both for the suggestion. I will see how bad the rust is on the reinforcement pieces. If they look salvageable, I’ll see if I can find a really good welder to do the work.

Joe, did the fames also get a couple gussets around the engine crossmember as well?
Or is that an earlier HD frame thing?
