PVC 1964 Dynamic 88 yah or nay

I am replacing my air filter holder with an aftermarket one. Obviously the PVC and tube will no longer be viable. Do I need it or should I re-route it to the rear of my 2brl rochester.

You really can't completely eliminate it as your engine has no road draft tube and it needs a way to scavenge crankcase gases.

I know some 2GC back then had a threaded plug at back of the throttle plate. You should be able to connect a PCV valve there. Find a PCV valve that will fit your valve cover grommet, then run the hose from there to back of the carb. Use an appropriate nipple in the carb base and connect hose to that. If you still have your OE type oil fill cap this setup will work, otherwise you'll need some type of open breather oil fill cap.

You could add a down draft tube from a 62 and let it pour out under the passenger side of the car.

The PCV valve needs to be routed to manifold vacuum. The large port at the back of the carb is one option. The PCV does not route to the air cleaner. That is the breather vent tube. You can get aftermarket air cleaners with the hose fitting for a breather, or you can get an aftermarket fitting from Mr. Gasket and others that you can add to the underside of your air cleaner by drilling a few holes.

Alternately, you can use a breather cap on the valve cover.
