What color rally rims should I get?
OK most of you know I have 14 inch rallys on my Delta, I bought it that way. Well after checkout out the local Craigslist this week I scored 4 15 x 7, 5 x 4.75 rallys
2 are done up really nice, a dark gray and the other 2 are in need of work, one's either black or very dark green, and the other is redish. I'm probably going to get all 4 powercoated.
Relax, nothing outrageous, I'm either going to get "Mirror Black", "Dark Grey (Battleship is the color's name) Gold like the early leaded motors, or Super gloss clear (which is chrome)
I don't know if I want the chrome. Black would match the car, and dark grey would look good, but will it flow? Gold? Many years down the road, I'm thinking of getting a 1985 442 stlye paint job on it and the gold would work also if I keep the 1/4 landu roof on it
The grey ones had all new rings and inserts. The rings on the other 2 are a bit scuffed and the rings are OK. I'll probably get them powercaoted too, in the clear of course.
Not bad for getting 5 rims for $150 ( I got one 14 x 7 inch black rim too )

The car is black with a 1/4 tan landu roof. It's a Delta 88
I do plan on the 442 paint job in the future, but probably without the "442" decals since it lacks defention for 1985 and 1968 (motor year)
I've seen the mid 80's 442's black with the grey stripes alone the bottom half of the car and sporting gold rally wheels

With black presently and black/grey in the future, I would go with the the grey color. Either the grey you plan to use in the future color combo, or the grey that was used stock (sort of a metallic kind of grey).

How dark of a grey?
2 of the wheels are painted gray with high temp header paint and glossed over, 2 coats each.
They look good, but there is a little bit of rust peaking thru, and I know there will be more to come
Here's the company I'm going to have do the work and this is a link to they color chart

The wagons are 5x5 and the sedans are 5x4.75. They are also 5x5 again starting in 91 til 96.
The car currently has 14 inch Cutlass rallys on it with no adapters of any kind

And an old pic of the car, overall exterior hasn't changed much

Actually, Deltas did have Super Stock rims on them but the center caps were different. They were a little wider and extended down into the "valleys" where the lug nuts resided. Looked pretty good too. I have a set in my garage gathering dust. I think the reason that Delta looks a little odd is because the tires are a little short for the car. I think they could be a bit taller to fill the wheel wells more.

Tire size for your Delta
Just for thought...
I have 255/60/15s all the way around on my '77. There is no rubbing in the front of any kind. PLUS it makes it so much easier to rotate them having all four the same size.
