Question - 50 Olds VIN Tag & Windshield

Got my ebay 50 Olds 88 Coupe yesterday from Fla. It will take work.

Questions - The VIN tag on the left post.

My VIN is attached with Phillips screws, the heads are unmolested or are they tack welded, like some GM cars?

The cowl tag shows D for DeLuxe, it has a one piece windshield. noticed some 50's with 2 piece.

Both of my 50 coupes from the old days were one piece, is that because the DeLuxe comes with a one piece?

My reference states that the one piece windshield was a mid-year upgrade for the 88 series. In the photos of different models (76, 88, conv, wagon, etc) some have the two piece, and some have the one piece windshields. Apparently yours is a later year model.

Thanks Dan that sounds reasonable. The last few on ebay had a 2 piece, had me wondering because all 3 of the 88 coupes i had were one piece. I like the one piece myself. I will have a 4th one piece windshield, it needs to be replaced
