Pics of my '64 Jetstar 88

Here are some pics of her. She's all original mechanically. My Dad and I restored her, no frame off, but she turned out nice for having 6'' of water in the floorboards and trunk when we got her!

Wow, convertible, too. Very nice. I had a '64 Jetstar 88 two-door hardtop back in the '90s. Seeing yours brings back some memories. I sold it in 1996. Photo attached taken in 1993.

Clean looking ride. I love the look of '63 and '64 hardtop rooflines.

From a place that, unfortunately, no longer exists. Hall's Oldsmobile Salvage was in Kansas and was one of the largest Olds parts suppliers in existence. I don't know the exact date, but around the end of the 1990s, the owner wanted to retire and tried to sell the operation. He wasn't successful, and, as I understand it, the place was liquidated, with all the old Oldsmobiles being sold off piecemeal.

It's too bad as Hall's was pretty much a one-of-a-kind place and a great resource for used parts, which is pretty much all you can get to restore the full-sized Oldsmobiles. He did have the occasional NOS part, and that's what this grille was (for $100, as I recall, back in about 1992)

Great job, Wiseguy!

I'm just beginning to do my '65 Jetstar....
What colors did you use on the engine? I know that the engine is gold, but is the intake manifold gold also, or is it silver?

I've seen them done both ways.

I had a 1965 98 but I don't remember the paint scheme for that either.
and..... back then you usually cared less what color the 455 was!

Best wishes,

Ddbord
