Photo of mounted license plate holder on 1968 Delta 88

Anyone have a photo of a mounted front license plate holder on a 1968 Delta 88? Making sure I mount it correctly.

I can get you a shot when I get home later tonight. I have 3… I know all three are mounted the same but I can’t recall exact orientation…Dave

Here’s my 68 Delmont , the two Ninety Eights are the same. I think if you installed the holder 180 deg, it would slightly raise the plate making it tough to get to the hood latch, also the mount base area is slightly angled to make the plate more vertical when installed like mine are. I’m guessing since these were installed during dealer prep they would have received instructions, but the nos ones don’t have any info, nor does it show in the PIM or service/body manuals that I have found. Hope the helps, Dave

The photo is really helpful and what I was expecting, but good to see it actually on a car. Are there any rubber spacers behind the plate holder to reduce rubbing the bumper? Will try it with spacers and see how it works.

No washers or spacers… just screwed to the bumper. You got me questioning these things, it looks like it would be easier to install the top screws if it were rotated 180. Hard to know what the intent was… so there may not be a “right answer”. Dave

I cut a milk jug up and made a spacer to sandwich between the bumper & bracket to keep it off the chrome. Wax the bumper first.
