In putting my 56 Olds back together I find I am missing several pieces from the steering section. I am missing the 1 inch threaded plug, the spring and the 1/2 ball that contacts the ball on the pittman arm attached to the steering sector. This is located on the drivers side, the threaded plug has a slot in it, and a cotter key rides in the slot to keep it in place. I will be more than willing to pay for your travel time etc. if you know of a parts car. Appreciate any help you can give. Thanks, Chuck redrket56@sbcglobal.net

 

if the parts you need are the same on a '55 98 (i have NO idea if they're
the same or not), you might want to contact OLDSPACKRAT as I saw on a
post earlier today that he is going to a junk yard this week I believe it said
and there is a '55 there that should have the parts you need. He is in Indiana and as I understand it, the junk yard is located not far from him...
I have not dealt with OLDSPACKRAT but I have heard good things about him. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the info Fred. I believe the middle 50's BOP cars all used the same steering components. I will try and contact oldspackrat and see if he can help. Again appreciate the prompt reply, Chuck
