need a windshield
I was wondering what windshields from other cars will fit my car, 68 delta. There is a 69 88 or 98 that is being parted out and I was wondering if the windshield from that will fit my car.
Just out of curiosity, why not just put in a new windshield? I don't know what your budget is, so this is just a reference. PS Auto Glass (I've used them and found the price/product is good) has the tinted windshield for your car : http://www.psautoglass.com/store/Scr...idCategory=432 They are in WI. Don't know where you are, but the shipping shouldn't be too bad. Good luck with your project.
As just a guess, I would say no.
In addition to what Allan said, I think you also have to be concerned about body style. I don't think it was automatic that every '68 Delta 88 used the same windshield. The convertibles were often different. There might have been differences between 2 and 4-doors as well, but I don't know. All I know is that the few times I had a new windshield put into my cars, the vendor always wanted to know what the body style was.
There certainly could have been and likely were differences between model years, too, so the windshield from a '69 Delta 88 2-door wouldn't necessarily fit a '68 of the same body style. Regardless, you'd definitely want to check before spending money on this.
But as Allan says, why not go with new if you can? Of course it would likely cost more, but then you would have an exact fit of a new piece of clear, modern safety glass without any of the scratches and pits that inevitably get into the windshield over the years.

young olds, if you open the link I sent you there is a picture of the glass. It will also have 2 tabs = View / Add. If you clik the 'view' tab, it will tell you all the cars that the windshield fits. In this case the windshield fits a whole cartload of them, including some convertibles but only in the 65-68 range.
If you're curious about whether the 69 windshield is interchangeable, I changed the search option at PS Auto Glass to 69 Delta 88 2 Dr and they don't stock anything. That doesn't mean that a local shop can't order you the new glass you are looking for. Also, you can help yourself by checking the Hollander Parts Interchange to see about fitment. As Jaunty said though, it looks like 69 is not compatible with 65-68. Sorry about that. (sad face)

I would first check with your insurance company if you have full coverage on the car or even the right collector car coverage, you could get the windshield for free. I'm in KY and Ky has a no fault glass law. If you have insurance and the windshield or rear window get broken, they replace it free. No deductable either. It may even apply to side windows but I've never checked on that. Worth a phone call to your agent IF you have coverage on it.
