Interchangable?

Parts are getting hard to find. Is there a place that tells what other years will interchange with a 1965 Dynamic 88 vert? Can some one point me in the right direction or have the knowlage? I want to finish the old gal.

The problem with Hollander is it's too vague.
For instance they said all REAR Coil Springs from 1961-66 Olds 88 were the same.
What they didn't mention is the Coil Size (round) and Tension. 1964 lost several humdred pounds so the Obsolete 1963 Springs are heavier...but I found some.
If you want the correct parts and not just "the parts that fit" look elsewhere.
What are you looking for?
I have a 1963 D88 HC and many Parts Books

Hey OLDZGUY,
Would you mind letting me know what breaks interchange with a 63 D88 Holiday Sedan?
If you would...
Thanks!

I think most of the stuff that breaks is the same...

Now, if you mean BRAKES, then the 63-64 Olds full size (except the 1964 Jetstar 88) all interchange. If your real question is what DISK brakes interchange, the answer is nothing easily.

Thanks, Joe. If I did that every time I had a chance to, I'd be a pariah here.

Does it go the same for drums? 64 fits a 63? Hollanders says only 59-63...?

My G.M. Master catalogue says for front drums '64 F/S Olds fits only '64, and '62 / '63 F/S Olds are interchangeable. The '63 Starfire has it's own drum which is a different Number. Hope this helps.

I wouldn't much worry about spending a C note on a new brake drum. As collector car prices go, that's not bad. Besides, it's a safety item and if your old ones are out of spec or damaged... what's it worth to be able to avoid an accident just once?

Just sayin'

Forgive a late reply, and thanks yall for all the brake (and break) direction. Got a load of rebuild parts from rockauto.com. Missing one of the front main spring brackets which im sure i can fab unless someone has a better thought... More concerning is the both right and left front spindles. Both are fairly chewed up. Plan on hitting it with a fine file or a die (which would suck finding a right and left handed (not even sure of the size/thread.)) Haven't yet looked for dies, but I have spent a bit getting all the rignt parts from rockauto.com. I also am missing one of the front main spring brackets, which im sure i can fab, unless given better advise.. Really just wondering if a conversion at this point would be a no brainer...?

You might want to try http://http://www.ctcautoranch.com/index.html in North Texas. I am sure they have the spindles you need, and possibly other items. Good luck!
