I'm curious. What do you have against the '74s?

Actually wanting a four-door puts you in a distinct minority, but I agree with you that the four-door full-size Oldsmobiles from that era can look good, especially the hardtops.

Here's a beautiful '73 I saw at a show in 2009. Gorgeous car inside and out. I love the lines on a four-door hardtop, and I love the two-tone white-over-red on this one.

Good luck in your search.

By the way, you don't say your location. How far and wide are you willing to go to get the car of your dreams? Also, in what condition do you want it? Are you looking to get something cheap and do a full restoration, or do you want something already looking pretty good? Do you have a price range?

Here's just a few I found poking around in craigslist.

A '73 four-door sedan in Wisconsin. Price seems reasonable. Looks like it needs front-end repairs.

Here's another four-door in Wisconsin. Terrible pictures, but there it is.

Here's a '75 98 four-door in Massachusetts.

Here's a pretty '76 98 four-door hardtop, not far from me, actually, in southern New Mexico.

Here's a '76 Delta 88 four-door in the Daytona Beach, Florida, area.

Well, there seems to be a few out there. You might not be able to find one within 10 miles of your house, but if you're willing to travel at least a little bit to get one, you can likely find what you want.

You should be checking the local paper, too, and probably the St. Louis papers as that doesn't appear too far away (100 miles?). You never know what might pop up.

He's not much of a friend if he bought the car out from under you only to smash it to bits!
