Exhaust mani needed 4 '75 rocket 350
I have a 1975 olds rocket 350 engine and my headers leak like crazy. I heard this is common and the stock manifold is the way to go, but can't find mani. Anyone have a set or ideas?
Thanks,
Arturo

headers should not leak. try using a quality gasket and check mating surfaces for any burrs. its a big step backwards to go back to stock manifolds(about 25-40hp)also, sometimes if you buy cheap headers, they simply dont fit well.

Start with good quality header gaskets. I like the MrGasket brand.
Get them "holes" to match the header ports, not the heads (probably round, but check).
If it is metallic on one side, make sure you have the right side on the head (I forget which, but they'll be marked).
NEW header bolts. Rusty blts have less surface/friction area and will loosen up no matter what.
Believe it or not, skim coat the header gasket surfaces with RTV. Just plain old RTV.
Tighten it up like you do a head gasket...from the middle out. Tightening over 3 sequences until you get it tight.
Run it through a heat cycle or two and retorque.
